However, there is so much to explore in this area if you are a tourist, with Braemar and Ballater, being the focal points. A trip to Royal Lochnagar Distillery and the many castles such as Braemar Castle and Corgarff Castle. For those wishing to fish, there is the river Dee within sight. For golfers there are some charming local golf courses including Braemar and Aboyne. But this area is most well known for the magnificent mountains and those wishing to go walking and climbing, then the Cairngorm mountain range starts here.
