The area immediately around No 2 is primarily forestry land with almost endless opportunities for walking, off road cycling and fishing, with necessary permits. The property is situated approximately 23 miles from Oban (often and not without good reason, known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland and the Gateway to the Isles) on National Cycle Route 78, The Caledonia Way.
Within around an hour’s drive of No 2, there are many historical and scenic places to visit e.g. Kilchurn Castle, Kilmartin Glen, Crinan Canal, Tayvallich and other coastal villages popular with the sailing community. For those partial to Uisge Beatha (water of life) there are also a number of distilleries within easy reach or a short ferry trip from Oban.
No 2 has recently undergone some renovations, including a newly refurbished bathroom and will offer comfortable, centrally heated, accommodation for up to 4 people:
- Sitting room, overlooking Loch Awe with wood burning stove and dining area. Smart TV.
- Double bedroom overlooking Loch Awe
- King/twin bedroom (can be made up as required – please confirm configuration at least one week before arrival)
- Fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer
- Newly refurbished bathroom with electric shower
- Wi-fi - as this is a rural location, wi-fi connectivity can be intermittent so the best thing to do is relax and completely forget about work and the outside world!
- Large garden with patio/seating area. The garden is not fully enclosed so small children need to be closely supervised. A small BBQ is available.
- No pets
- No smoking
- Please Note that as No 2 is served by a private water supply so bottled water for drinking is strongly advised. An initial supply of bottled water will be provided. The water system is maintained and tested regularly.
- A torch is strongly recommended if you plan to arrive after dark. Part of the attraction of the area is the lack of ambient lighting which means that, on a clear night, star formations are clearly visible. We don't want to spoil that for our neighbours so while there is some outside lighting a torch will be useful.
