Red squirrels thrive in the area and the lawn extends towards the Tay Estuary and a vast reed bed managed by the RSPB where you can spot a range of birds such as Bearded Tits and Marsh Harriers. Feel free to take a walk by the river to get close to wildlife.
Your host Fiona has four luxurious rooms with stunning views available. Guests also have use of the Drawing Room and a fully fitted kitchen to make themselves feel at home during their stay. There are also outside spaces to enjoy as well as a tennis court and fire pit for the colder evenings.

The gateway to the Highlands is the perfect place to explore Scotland with a huge range of activities available.
Culture seekers will enjoy the newly opened V&A in neighbouring Dundee, Scotland’s first Design Museum. Dundee is also home to the world class Dundee Rep Theatre which produces dance and theatre for a diverse audience. The Pitlochry Festival Theatre is unique with large-scale productions and concerts in the heart of Perthshire. Perth’s Concert Hall is also a great place to hear some traditional Scottish music.
Scotland has a rich and sometimes bloody history and where better to learn about it than Scone Palace. This stunning Palace has 100 acres of glorious land, salmon fishing and a maze! It is the crowning place of Scottish Kings like Robert The Bruce and Macbeth. Glamis Castle, undoubtedly one of Scotland’s most beautiful, also provided inspiration for Shakespeare’s classic ‘Scottish Play’. Witnessing over 1000 years of history Glamis Castle is also the Queen Mother’s childhood home.
Foodies will relish the variety of artisan producers in Tayside including the award-winning Highland Chocolatier’s chocolate shop and lounge where they conduct their tastings. A trip to Dunkeld’s Smokehouse is a must and while you are there you can grab a cake from Aran Bakery owned by Bake Off semi-finalist Flora Shedden and local produce from the Scottish Deli. A little closer to home is the Plant Shack where you can pick up The Carse of Gowrie’s world-renowned strawberries and soft fruit.
To wash down all of the glorious eats pick up an award-winning fruit wine from Cairn o’ Mohr but make sure to stick around for a tour and tasting. Find something more savoury at Ogilvy’s Scottish Potato Vodka Farm and they’ll take you on their Tattie Box Tour Trailer. A trip to Scotland wouldn’t be complete without a Distillery Tour and there is several to choose from including Tullibardine Distillery, one of the only independent distilleries left in Scotland.
Before helping yourself to a dram, tee off at the famous Gleneagles Golf Course nearby. Gleaneagles is one of many courses in Tayside, Crieff Golf Club is rated one of Scotland’s top inland courses and Pitlochry boasts sweeping landscapes to marvel between holes. There’s also a driving range close to Seasyde where you can perfect your swing and of course there is also Piperdam where you can not only swing your golf club but also cast a fly for a trout.
If your favourite activities are a little more hair raising, you can jump out of a plane at the local airfield in Errol! Adrenaline junkies can enjoy the panoramic views of the area in a tandem skydive or go white water rafting, paintballing or canyoning in Perthshire. For something a little more traditional visit Auchterhouse for clay pigeon shooting, falconry or archery.
Children will love Dundee’s Olympia swimming pool with four flumes and river rapid. Go wild at Camperdown Wildlife Centre and Blair Drummond Safari Park go in ‘two by two’ to Noah’s Ark soft play area in Perth.
There are loads of beautiful walks to take both locally and further afield including a walk from Seasyde along the riverbank to Errol. The Hermitage is a hidden gem with Ossian’s Hall where the sound of the waterfall surrounds you as you take in the magnificent scenery. The Sidlaws are a range of hills formed by volcanic rock. They extend for 30 miles from family friendly Kinnoull Hill on the outskirts of Perth to Forfar. Take on the Sidlaws if you fancy a challenge.
Go bargain hunting in Rait’s Antique Centre or at the Scottish Antique and Arts Centre in Abernyte. Errol itself is home to the biggest car boot sale in the UK so treat yourself to a good rummage.
