The Waterside Rooms luxury suite is located on the ground floor of our lovely former fisherman’s cottage dating from 1834, in Dornock near Annan, Dumfries and Galloway. The kingsize bedroom, sitting room, designer en-suite and private entrance are all designed to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. Our garden adjoins the sea shore and estuary with views to the Lake District and out towards the Irish Sea. You can watch the spectacular bore wave coming in from your exclusive suite. From your rooms overlooking the Solway, high tide is a time to spot lots of wildlife on the move. It’s a magical place to stay.
There is an abundance of birdlife around us in this peaceful quiet haven which is a feast for birds at low tide – curlews, shelducks, oyster catchers to name a few. The Solway is an important migratory route for birds and you have excellent views of the Lake District fells and out towards the Irish Sea from your suite, the garden and the breakfast table.
This is beautiful place to stay and relax away from it all, or use as a base to explore the many delights Dumfries and Galloway has to offer – bird and wildlife, history, castles, gardens, cycling, arts & crafts, books, food …… Yet within easy reach of major transport links.
