CLÀR / PLATFORM
Calling all young creatives and gamers! In our next block of workshops we will be collaborating to build our own video game. There’s a role for everyone, maybe you’re already a writer, 3D modeller, animator, illustrator, musician or perhaps you’re an enthusiastic beginner and want to come along to learn. We’ll be creating a concept, developing characters, levels and sound design, then putting it all together as a playable game. Sessions will use a range of software such as Unity, Blender, SculptGL and Ableton Live – no prior experience is necessary, we’ll learn on the job! Weekly sessions will run every Wednesday evening from 4 to 7pm during term time with extra workshops to focus on specific skills TBC. We’ll be working towards a public launch event at the beginning of December.
What we do: Clàr / Platform is a new multimedia project for creative young people who are interested in getting into film, streaming, content creation, production skills and organising events. It’s a group that meets on a weekly basis to decide on the kind of work we are going to focus on, the outcomes we will create and the kinds of skills we need to learn to get there. We are led by our participants and tailor the focus of our activities to suit the interests and abilities of the people who attend.
Who can take part?: Anyone aged 14 – 25 with an interest in our project is encouraged to join. We don’t require any previous experience.
