Attadale Gardens are spectacular gardens with views of Skye and feature an impressive collection of sculpture scattered throughout the 20 acre site. Visitors arrive through the water gardens and can wander through the new wood, admire the huge trunks of the ancient rhododendrons, as well as exploring the sunken garden, the peace garden, plus the Japanese garden and a geodesic dome filled with ferns. You can even buy plants from the polytunnel in the kitchen garden.

Attadale Gardens are exceptional gardens started by the Victorians and developed further over the last forty years by Nicky and Ewen Macpherson. They include extensive water gardens and ancient paths winding through woodland and rhododendrons, over bridges, waterfalls and exotically planted ponds.

See if you can find the well-hidden sculptures scattered throughout the gardens as well as the restored sunken garden and herb garden. The gardens also include a kitchen garden, a sunken fern garden and Japanese garden as well as a geodesic dome filled with tender ferns and a conservatory with plants that flourish in the warmth. Children always enjoy searching for the sculpture scattered through the gardens.

Attadale is on the A890 between Strathcarron and S. Strome on the South side of Loch Carron. It is convenient to visit for people on their way to the Isle of Skye or Eilean Donan Castle - as well as those heading further North towards Applecross, Torridon & Shieldaig.

Arrive by train at Attadale Station, a request stop on the Inverness - Kyle line, turn right on leaving the station and enter through the pedestrian gate for easy access. The main vehicle entrance to the garden is signposted after about 200 yards and there is a free visitors' carpark just before the garden entrance. Disabled visitors are welcome to drive up and park by the house. A wheelchair is available.
