The course is an enjoyable test for visitors of all golfing abilities, including beginners, and the club is very welcoming of visitors with a range of golf packages available.
The layout opens with a pair of par fours around 350 yards long with out of bounds on the right, so accuracy rather than length from the tee is required to score well. A short climb to the 3rd tee brings you to the first of five par threes, which are a special feature of the course.
Around the turn, the 8th, 9th and 10th are set around a picturesque lochan whose adjacent burn comes into play. Mature trees and patches of whins are more than just a scenic backdrop and feature strongly on the closing holes. Holes 12 to 16 each have their own particularly fearsome spots, before the final holes reward with a satisfying close to the round.
Course Highlight
The 5th plays uphill with a slight dogleg from right to left. After a good drive a long shot to the green awaits. The approach is played over a dip in the land and protected by mature trees, and if you escape with par you’ll be doing very well.
