Carn Liath is an attractive Munro which is one of the hills in the Beinn a' Ghlo massif, seen from many parts of Perthshire. We climb Carn Liath (975m) from the road end at Loch Moraig and continue along a high ridge before heading down into one of the many corries of this complex hill. A good path takes us back to the starting point. Along the way, you'll hear some stories about the Witch's Mountain.
The walk starts and finishes at an informal car park near Loch Moraig above the Old Bridge of Tilt. We'll start walking by 09:30. The walk is 15km long with a total ascent of around 750m. It will take about 7 hours and we should finish by 16:30.
The walk follows mainly good paths and tracks, but there is a pathless section of under 2km.
