In an elevated position facing south, Auld Orwell has fantastic views over the bay to the Outer Hebrides. A comfortable and well-equiped cottage within walking distance of the historic Village of Stein. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It offers a degree of accessibility with one bedroom and one bathroom on the ground floor. Dogs and children also welcome. Plus pay as you go electric car charging available.

AULD ORWELL COTTAGE

The traditional stone built cottage sits on an elevated position with fantastic views of Lochbay, the Minch and over to the Western Isles. The cottage offers a comfortable and relaxing dwelling on two floors.

A self-catering home from home on Waternish, the place to be on the Isle of Skye. From its elevated position over Lochbay, Auld Orwell overlooks the pretty fishing village of Stein and beyond, to unforgettable views and dramatic sunsets across the Minch to the Outer Isles of the Hebrides. The location is one of a handful of dark sky zones in the UK - perfect for aurora hunters and star gazing.

A unique, deceptively spacious, traditional stone cottage (a former croft) offering 4* comfort in flexible accommodation for 2 - 6 people. Recent sympathetic restoration has provided all the benefits of modern living whilst retaining the historic character of the original croft cottage.

The cottage can sleep up to 6 people in comfort. The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, a twin room and a further bedroom which can be either double or twin. There are two bathrooms.

There is a large open plan sitting/dining room with comfortable sofa, chairs and window seats, and with a recently fitted wood burning stove. The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing-machine and a large fridge/freezer. All cooking ustensils, crockery & glassware are provided. There is a separate hallway area for coats, wellies, shoes and muddy walking boots!

The rental includes full central heating, linen, towels, a complimentary basket of logs and kindling, satellite TV, and wi-fi.

Outside there is a lawn with table and chairs where you can sit and soak up the peace and in the evenings watch stunning sunsets, and plenty of room for your four legged friend to run around!

The local village of Stein was originally an eighteenth century fishing village and today is home to the only Michelen starred restaurant on Skye, Lochbay Restaurant, and the oldest inn on Skye (the Stein Inn) There is also a dive centre offering boat trips (seal watching on the small islands in the bay or more adventurous forays for those with an appetite for exploring further afield!). There is a further boat offering daily boat trips further afield to St Kilda. Locally there are a number of galleries and craft shops, including the 5 star visitor attraction of Skyeskyns tannery.Dunvegan Castle, the ancient ancestral seat of the clan MacLeod, is about ¼ hour drive away and Dunevagan itself has local shops, a garage, bakery, restaurant (enjoyed by many of our guests) and several cafes.

The Isle of Skye is a haven for wild-life and there are a wide variety of stunning walks as well as art and craft enterprises and places of historic interest to explore .
