With stunning views of the sea and mountains of Skye, Kintail and Knoydart beyond, this is a romantic hideaway where you can totally relax.
The property itself is peacefully located on the shores of Loch Alsh so you can wake up to the sound of the sea and a short stroll away is the National Trust's mature woodland gardens.
Rooms are stylish and spacious, finished to a high standard. Every room has Egyptian cotton sheets, stone tiled shower rooms or spacious bathrooms, flat screened tv and tea/coffee tray. We have a range of rooms; super king, double and twin. We also have one family suite available.
Wake up to the sound of the sea and a wonderful breakfast; fresh fruit and yoghurt, full Scottish cooked breakfast, scrambled free range eggs and smoked salmon or our national dish, porridge, with a choice of accompaniments.
Friendly, local staff have a great knowledge of the area and can help tailor your stay. We can provide picnics, packed lunches and guidebooks as well as washing and drying facilities.
Directions
From Skye /Kyle head East on A87 for 3 miles and look for BALMACARA MAINS sign, turn right and follow lane for 250 meters and the guest house is situated on your left, overlooking the bay.
From the South/Inverness on A87 head for Kyle of Lochalsh. Approximately 4 miles after Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie and 1 mile after passing Balmacara Hotel you will see a sign to the left for the National Trust Woodland Walks. Take this turning and we are 250m down the hill on the left.
From the nearest information centre:- From Tourist Information Centre in Kyle of Lochalsh head East on the A87 for about 1.5 miles (2.5km) and look for BALMACARA MAINS sign take right turn follow the lane for 250 meters and the guest house is situated on your left, overlooking the bay.
Getting there by railway:- The nearest railway station is Kyle of Lochalsh which is 2 miles away. Local taxis operate throughout the day and evening.
Getting there by aeroplane:- The nearest Airport is at Inverness approximately 80 miles away. The train service links Kyle of Lochalsh with Inverness; it is a famous and exceptionally scenic route.
