With incredibly spacious rooms over three floors, and a separate mews annexe, there is room for two or three families to take over this magnificent property for an extremely special holiday in this beautiful part of Speyside. The reception rooms and most of the bedrooms enjoy fantastic views out over the garden towards the mountains. You’re just a short walk from the village centre, and only 10 minutes drive from either Aviemore or Grantown too.
Off the main entrance hall is your huge drawing room. With big deep sofas, stunning views to the garden and mountains and a vast dining table, you might imagine you’d spend most of your evenings relaxing in here. However across the entrance hall is another elegant and comfortable sitting room in which you may prefer to relax over after-dinner drinks!
Also on this floor is the entrance to the wine cellar, which you can stock with your favourite vintage if planning a special occasion. But there is more than enough room for a week’s worth of champagne in the wine fridge in Craigard’s huge kitchen. It also has a double range oven, island and dining table, and all the appliances you’d expect in any modern luxury kitchen.
Up the glorious carved wood staircase you’ll find an expansive master bedroom which overlooks the garden. It has its own delightful little turret, and an ensuite with rolltop bath and shower. There are two further large double bedrooms and a twin with ensuite shower room on this floor, as well as a bath and shower room, and a shower room with a loo.
Up to the second floor and another double bedroom, a turreted twin room and a single - all of which overlook the gardens. There’s also a bathroom with bath and shower and a loo on this floor. But the most exciting room up here must be the huge cinema room, with giant projector screen, sound system and an array of comfy sofas to settle into for a night of your favourite films. There’s also a mini kitchen in here (including another wine fridge) so you don’t even need to go downstairs for your movie snacks!
However the fun isn’t limited to the main house; out of the side porch is the decked area with your hot tub and outdoor dining area. Next to that is the mews annexe, which you enter through french windows to reach its games room with pool table, table tennis and table football. Upstairs is a handy little apartment should you need it, with double bedroom, sitting and kitchen area, shower room and loo.
The Craigard grounds are large and enclosed so perfect for ball games and family fun. If you return after a day in the Cairngorms a bit wetter and muddier than when you left, the large side porch of the main house is kept warm enough to hang all your outdoor clothes and footwear - and even ski gear - to dry overnight. Off this is your utility room with washing machine and dryer.
It’s just a short walk down Kinchurdy Road into Boat of Garten village, or turn left out of the house to join the Speyside Way which takes you on foot or bicycle all the way to Aviemore. Eight cars can comfortably be accommodated outside if required.
There are few houses in this area that can accommodate so many in such style and luxurious comfort, and none that will capture your heart quite like captivating Craigard.
