Built in the 1940s, Dorevay stands in its own 3 acres on the south side of the River Dee. Its woodland of beech, oak, pine and birch contains varied bird life and red squirrels with the occasional hedgehog and roe deer when things are quiet.
One wing of Dorvevay has been converted to comfortable self-catering accommodation for one or two people. There is a kitchen/dining area downstairs, with a double bedroom, sitting-room, and bathroom (with bath and shower) upstairs. There are storage/convector heaters, cooker, fridge, washer/dryer,and a television. The telephone is on a line shared with the main house. There is sometimes an additional en-suite double bedroom available in main house. Outside there are garden seats, small tables a summer-house, and a wash-line.

We are 1 mile from Aboyne post office & 30 miles from Aberdeen.
This area is good for walking, photography, cycling, gliding, and touring coast and countryside by car. There is a wide choice of golf courses and Scottish National Trust properties. Aberdeen and the coast are under an hour’s drive away and there are many small towns to explore. Mountains, hills, lochs, rivers, castles, gardens, tennis, swimming, bowling, golf, riding, relaxing ------ come, see, do, and enjoy.
Driving Directions
Coming from the bridge /976 junction:
Turn left and pass two roads off to the right
As you pass the second entrance to South Manse and see a house up on the right, signal a right turn.
Immediately before the bend turn carefully right between stone pillars and follow the drive up to the first gravel parking area on the right.
Coming from Potarch or B974:
Pass two roads to the left SP Birse Church about a mile apart with a dairy farm between them on the right.
Pass a living van, and farmhouse with outbuildings on the right.
Approaching a bend with a CAUTION sign, signal left.
Dorevay entrance is just round the bend.
Drive between the pillars and up to the first parking space on the right.
