Our elegant, traditional, stone built, Victorian villa, set in beautiful, peaceful grounds, within the Cairngorms National Park, has acquired an enviable reputation for comfort and quality and has held the Taste Our Best Award from VisitScotland for some years. With well appointed accommodation, delicious food, off-road parking in a tranquil setting, Glengarry provides the perfect all-year-round base. We have a choice of Double, Twin and Single rooms with single occupancy rates available on request.
Glengarry is surrounded by beautiful scenery, all within easy walking distance of the house. Locally we have the award winning Highland Folk Museum containing a 1700's township (where scenes from Outlander were filmed), through to a 1930's farm and school. Ruthven Barracks, a British Army outpost during the 1700's, is well worth a visit. For wildlife lovers there is the Highland Wildlife Park where you will see a variety of wild animals including Polar Bears, Amur Tigers, and Wolves. Exciting news, the arrival of a Polar Bear cub has been announced and in the very near future you will be able to see this latest addition to the Polar Bear area. Red Deer and Red Squirrels can be found around the Kingussie area - we have our own resident red squirrels in the garden who often appear around breakfast time. The world famous Insh Marsh Nature Reserve is a short walk from Glengarry and we are situated amongst some of Scotland's best walking and climbing country. The Cairngorm mountain has the highest cafe in Scotland just outside Aviemore and provides challenging ski slopes in the winter months.
Kingussie is very central for touring the Moray Coast, Aberdeenshire, the Western Highlands, Sutherland and Caithness, all within a day's travel. Explore the Speyside Whisky trail tasting some of Scotland's finest malt whiskies, play a round of golf at one of the many courses in the area. If you are interested in history then you are spoilt for choice with Cawdor, Ballindalloch and Urquhart Castles and the famous Culloden Battlefield all within one hour of Glengarry.
The small town of Kingussie has a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants to suit everyone's taste and is only a 5 minute walk from Glengarry.
As a member of Scotland's Best B&Bs, a small group of 4 and 5 star B&Bs throughout Scotland, we aim to give our guests a memorable stay.
