Gairloch makes a perfect holiday base, and is an ideal spot for hill walking, birdwatching, fishing, or just relaxing. It has a 9-hole golf course, safe sandy beaches, and is close to the beautiful National Trust Garden at Inverewe.
Gairloch offers many places to wine, dine and shop as well as being set amidst some of the best hill-walking areas in Scotland from the Torridon Mountains and the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve in the South, to Assynt further north.
Boat trips of all types are available for sailing around local islands, sea-angling or watching for marine wildlife including seals, whales and porpoises. Other popular local attractions include a number of unspoilt sandy beaches, a pony-trekking centre, and the award-winning Gairloch Heritage Museum.
There are sports and fitness facilities available at Gairloch Leisure Centre and an indoor swimming pool in the nearby village of Poolewe.
