Holiday Cottages Melrose are a unique collection of 4 individual properties forming part of a luxurious new barn conversion just three miles from the pretty Borders town of Melrose in the Scottish Borders with spectacular views.
The property sits on one floor and comprises:-
Open plan sitting room/dining kitchen. The sitting room area features elegant furnishings from Michael Vee Interiors including a chaise sofa, large wing armchair and leather chair with footstool. Technology includes a wall mounted flat screen TV with Free view and DVD players. Books, board games and a selection of DVDs are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher and microwave. Dining space with seating for four.
A utility room is accessed from the main door of the property and includes a sink, storage area, and washing machine with dryer.
Bedroom one has a superking bed, with side tables, console, and fitted wardrobe with shelving and hanging space.
Family Bathroom with separate shower unit (rainforest head), large bath, basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Bedroom two features zip and link beds which can be set up as a superking or twin as preferred. Side tables, console, and storage cupboard with hanging space. En suite with large walk in shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC.
Heating
Bioethanol fire with living flame - Guests will receive 4 bottles of fuel for a week-long stay and 3 for anything shorter. Should guests require any further fuel during their stay a nominal charge will apply.
Heating throughout the property, with underfloor heating in all the main living areas.
Technology
Wall mounted flat-screen TV with Freeview and DVD player.
Docking station to listen to music.
Wifi and mobile coverage
Wifi is available. There is good mobile coverage on most networks.
Bike/outside store
There is an outside store for the secure storage of outdoor kit such as bikes, fishing gear and golf clubs.
Garden and grounds
There is a small lawned garden to the side of the house which can be accessed through large bi-folding doors from the living space. This area includes a raised decked patio with garden furniture and seating for four. The garden is enclosed for the safety of children and dogs.
Parking
There is private parking for two cars.
Guest amenities
The beds are made up with high quality Egyptian Cotton bed linen, and a hairdryer is supplied in each bedroom. Luxurious bath sheets and hand towels are provided for guests along with hand soaps and toiletries.
Babies and children
A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
Welcome pack
A small welcome pack is provided.
Catering
The Byre can be taken on a purely self-catered basis, or a cook is available throughout guests’ stay, for breakfasts or dinners only or to provide one-off celebratory meals for a special occasion.
Eating Out
The village of Gattonside is a ten minute walk away and there are two restaurants there – Seasons and the Hoebridge. Melrose is about a 25 minute walk with various cafes, bars and restaurants.
Dogs
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at the property, but they must be kept to the uncarpeted areas of the property and are not permitted in the bedrooms. It is essential that owners clean-up after their pets and respect the access requirements of the estate.
Horses welcome
There is stabling available to guests wishing to bring their own horses for an additional fee.
Guest privacy
The Byre is a semi-detached property and sits within a small, peaceful development of three other converted properties. The decking area and garden ground looks onto the access of the adjoining Smiddy and Granary. If you have any concerns, please call us to discuss. There are open fields to the front and rear of the development.
