West Barr Cottage is a traditional cottage built with local stone which retains much of its original charm and character. The attractive accommodation consists of a newly renovated sitting room with open fire and a well equipped kitchen equipped with electric cooker and gas hob, washing machine, fridge and microwave. The double and twin bedrooms are spacious and bright. The shower room is modern and practical. The south-facing conservatory provides the ideal spot for watching seabirds dive in the water and no matter the season, catches the sun all day. The front garden is also an excellent spot for enjoying the sun and is enclosed on all sides with garden furniture provided.
The cottage is 2 miles north of Port William and yards from a peaceful shoreline. In the small harbour village you can enjoy sea angling, tennis, lawn bowling or a delicious meal in the Clansman restaurant. Nearby at Monreith there are glorious sandy beaches and a historic chapel to explore, or fantastic views to enjoy from the challenging 9-hole golf course. Also close-by is Whithorn where you can learn about the foundations of the first Christian Church in Scotland at a fascinating visitor centre and learn of interesting finds during a recent archaeological dig.
