A dark volcanic sandy beach situated at the head of Loch Brittle and at the base of the famous Cuillin mountains, Loch Brittle beach is a must see Highland destination just a few miles down the road from the Fairy Pools. There is plenty of space for swimming, flying kites, sea kayaking, relaxing, hill walking and exploring the Cuillin which is a triple SSI area of outstanding natural beauty. Strong swimmers may like to head out from the beach and explore the lower cliffs. As the burns from the Cuillin drain, they form waterfalls that drops vertically into the sea. The strongest is the ‘Demon Shower’ where the Allt na Buaile Duibhe arrives in some considerable style. After a sunny day, these waterfalls can provide a pleasantly warm and refreshing nature shower.

A850 from Kyle of Lochalsh to Sligachan, then turn left onto the A863 to Dunvegan. Turn left at Drynoch and take the B8009 to Carbost. Just before you reach Carbost, turn left at the signpost to Glenbrittle Campsite & Cafe.
