This attractive course lies in undulating fields above the River Nith. To the east of the course is the historic small town of Sanquhar itself, and the course nestles in typical Southern Upland scenery where rolling hills rise to the massive Lowthers.
This is a course that’s well worth playing, offering some challenging par 4s, but remaining accessible for all abilities of golfer, including families and beginners.
The welcoming clubhouse faces Glenmaddie and the upper reaches of the Euchan Valley. Visitors are made very welcome, booking is usually not necessary, and golfing parties are accepted if prior arrangements are made with the club.
Course Highlight
The signature hole is the par 3 6th, named ‘Wull’s Cairn’. This is a pleasing hole, where you hit from an elevated tee over a dip to an elevated green surrounded by bunkers.
