Route Description
The Tweed Valley Railway Path is an easy route for families and recreational cyclists as well as mountain bikers.
The Tweed Valley Railway Path is a multi-user path, stretching five miles long. It links the towns of Peebles and Innerleithen passing through the village of Cardrona on quiet roads. The path follows the picturesque River Tweed for much of the way and provides links to mountain biking trails at Innerleithen and Glentress.
The route passes the village store in Cardrona which currently operates a small café. The section to Glentress will also take you to the Peel Café, and you can find bike shops in Innerleithen, Glentress and Peebles. This route links up with National Cycle Network 1, which you can find information about on the Sustrans website, and also will take you past a ‘pump and jump track’ at Cardrona.
The route is fully signposted all the way. The route can be access from Innerleithen at Traquair Road, from Cardrona near the Cardrona Village Store, and from the east side of Peebles off Innerleithen Road, just after the Hydro Hotel.
