Our Isle of Skye Tour from Inverness is a 12 hour action-packed day which visits top sights such as the Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, the Quiraing, the Cuillin Mountains, Portree, Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Ness/Urquhart Castle.
The Isle of Skye Tour departs from Inverness Bus Station at 8.15am, where you will board a well-appointed 30-seater mini-coach (we have currently limited our capacity to 50% in order to adhere to one metre social distancing guidelines). Accompanied by an experienced local driver, and dedicated knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, you will embark on a 12-hour adventure to the Isle of Skye. Highlights of the tour include;
The Black Isle
As we drive over the Kessock Bridge to the Black Isle, our journey takes us through sleepy Highland villages and rolling farmland
Achnasheen
We have a short stop at this cute hamlet, where you can snap a photo from the railway bridge (10 minutes)
The Skye Bridge
After enjoying the dramatic landscapes of the West Coast, we journey over the bridge, enjoying fabulous views of nearby islands (hopefully, if the sun is shining!)
Portree
In this bustling fishing port, which is the main town on Skye, you can take a walk to see the famous pastel-coloured houses, indulge in some shopping or relax with a coffee. (40 minute stop)
The Old Man of Storr
We will stop to admire this 50 metre high pinnacle from a loch-side viewpoint (10 minute stop)
Kilt Rock
This exposed sea cliff also boasts a magnificent waterfall, which tumbles 60 metres into the Sound of Raasay below (15 minute stop)
The Quiraing
One of the tour highlights for most, here you will have a chance to explore the vast and ancient volcanic hillside (35 minute stop)
The Trotternish Peninsula
As we journey back down this peninsula you can marvel at the scenery from a different angle, and most likely in different weather conditions too - it is Scotland after all!
The Fairy Pools
Take a walk to see the crystal clear waters of the Fairy Pools, set to a beautiful backdrop of the imposing Cuillin Mountains. We will have around 90 minutes here which will give you plenty time to hike to the pools (20 minutes each way) and enjoy the splendid beauty of your surroundings. Don't forget your camera! (75-90 minutes)
Eilean Donan Castle
We stop at a wonderful viewpoint on the way home so that you can snap some photos of this iconic castle (20 minute stop). Note that the castle is closed and it is not possible to go inside.
Loch Ness
As we make our way alongside one of the world's most famous lochs, be sure to keep an eye out for Nessie!
Urquhart Castle
We will have our last stop of the day here, where you can view the castle and the loch from above (10 minute stop)
You will return to Inverness at 8pm after an unforgettable day exploring Skye!
