In the past however, from Roman times through medieval times to the post world war years, the inner part of the Solway Firth coast bore witness to the arrival and departure of many different groups of people who left their mark on the landscape.
A new tour devised to celebrate 'VisitScotlands 2020 year of Coast and Waters' in which Solwayconnections’ tour guide Fiona Stoddart will take you on a journey of the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway Solway coastline, visiting lesser known harbours and forgotten coastal heritage sites situated to the west of Gretna Green in Scotland. Fiona will share local maritime history and tell stories about Scottish Solway people and the places you visit.
