In 2014 the Ryder Cup returned to The Home of Golf, with Team Europe scooping the coveted trophy at Gleneagles following a hotly contested tournament between Team Europe and Team USA.

The spotlight shone on the magnificent PGA® Centenary Course at Gleneagles, designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, which takes in stunning views of the surrounding Perthshire countryside. Indeed, Nicklaus even described the course as "the finest parcel of land in the world I have ever been given to work with".

It'll be a few years yet till the Ryder Cup returns to Scotland (we hope - fingers crossed!) but in the meantime you can find out what other great championships are coming up this year and plan your trip to see some of the biggest names in golf battling it out for big prizes.

Are you ready to follow in the footsteps of golfing legends? From Championship links and magnificent parkland tracks to courses on islands and courses on cliff tops, you're sure to find your new favourite golf course in Scotland.
