Pitfichie

Highland Tourist Route

The forest at Pitfichie, located south west of Monymusk, is ideal for experienced mountain bikers, horse riders and walkers who are looking for a challenging day out. Walkers and horse riders can follow the circular 11.5 mile (18.6 km) Cairn William Trail. From the trail mountain bikers can veer off to follow the Granite Top trail, which has a rocky climb, excellent panorama and technical descent down the aptly named Devil’s Staircase. Another option for mountain bikers is to take the Pitfichie Downhill Trail which has previously been used for the Scottish Downhill Association for their Championship Series.
