Greater Glasgow & The Clyde Valley is a region bursting with first class dining, thriving farmers’ markets and bustling deli and specialist shops. Come and experience the unique flavours for yourself and discover great local producers across the region.

From specialist cheese shops in Lanark and Glasgow to butchers in Inverclyde who are famed for their haggis, there is something to suit foodies of all tastes.

No visit to the area would be complete without indulging the region's very own confectionary. The world-famous Tunnock's teacake which features a biscuit base and chocolate and marshmallow topping has been produced in Uddingston since the 1950s.

But it is not just Scotland’s delicious produce that is showcased across Greater Glasgow & The Clyde Valley. There are also plenty international influences, so look out for a number of Italian and French delis and patisseries where you can pick up a range of tasty treats.

If you're feeling inspired by the menus and local producers, why not book a course at one of the region's cook schools? Hone your skills and learn from the experts at The Tennant's Training Academy in Glasgow or head west to Greenock to explore the flavours of the world in the Cookschool @ Stepwell.

To pick up your own ingredients, head along to the regular farmers' markets and chat to the producers to find out more about their excellent range of Scottish produce.

Drinks

The region is also home to the popular carbonated drink, Irn Bru, well known for its original and unique flavour.  Based in Cumbernauld and affectionately known as Scotland’s other national drink, it has been produced by AG Barr since the turn of the 20th century.
