The west coast of Scotland is an area famed for its distinctive regional flavours and this is nowhere more evident than in the food and drink of the Outer Hebrides.

From freshly caught seafood and succulent beef and lamb, to the world-famous Stornoway Black Pudding, chefs across the Outer Hebrides are spoilt for choice when it comes to the available seasonal raw ingredients to fill their mouth-watering menus.

Enjoy these wonderful dishes in welcoming restaurants and bars from Lewis to Barra. Look out for an excellent range of fish and shellfish, not forgetting the unique flavours of Hebridean beef and lamb. To round off a hearty meal, wash it down with a craft beer from the Hebridean Brewery or sample a dram from Abhainn Dearg Distillery on the Isle of Lewis.

If you want to create your own dishes using wonderful Hebridean produce, visit the farmers’ markets, farm shops and smokehouses across the islands where you can meet the producers and get expert advice.
