Vote for Glasgow – Curry Capital of the UK!

The hunt is on again to find the UK’s Curry Capital and the public is being asked to vote for the city with the best Indian cuisine.

Having narrowly lost out to Bradford last year, Glasgow is again the hot favourite, having won the title more times than anywhere else. This year, the city has another really strong line-up of local restaurants taking part including the Ashoka Southside, KoolBa, Mother India and Mr Singhs.

Glasgow’s dominance in the competition might surprise some people more used to it’s unfair reputation for just deep-frying everything. But with its large Asian community and for the city where chicken tikka masala was invented – yes, really – there are some truly fine curry houses here. In fact, going for a curry is second nature for Glaswegians with over 50% of locals having one at least once a week.

So go online before 27 September and register your vote to restore Glasgow to its rightful place as Curry Capital of Britain! Better still, why not visit any of Team Glasgow’s restaurants and see for yourself what makes our curries so good?
