The well known online travel and booking website Expedia has announced that our very own capital city Edinburgh has had some very welcome news – taking 8th place in their top 10 destinations this Easter! Using information collected from people booking on their site this year, they collected the most popular destinations for UK travelers, with only London having fared better out of all UK locations. We’d love to say we are surprised, but being based in the capital ourselves we know what a great city it is to visit – especially over the Easter period!
This comes hot on the heels of CNN naming Scotland as its top destination for 2013 back in January – another great showcase of what Scotland has to offer.
The full list of top 10 Easter destinations was as follows;
- London, England
- Paris, France
- Manhattan, New York, USA
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Rome, Italy
- Las Vegas, USA
- Barcelona, Spain
- Edinburgh, Scotland (new entrant)
- Berlin, Germany
- Dubai, United Arab Emirates (new entrant)
We’d of loved to have added a link to the original press release, but for the life of us we can’t find it online! However, please do feel free to let us know what makes Scotland a top destination for you in the comments below!
