We’re excited to learn that Disney Pixar’s Brave has been nominated for a BAFTA, for best animated film!
This latest nomination is hot on the heels of the news just before Christmas that Brave is on the longlist for the Academy Awards (AKA ‘Oscars’) too. Nominated categories including ‘Best Animated Feature’, as well as ‘Best Original Song’ for Scottish singer Julie Fowlis’ beautiful ‘Touch the Sky’, which also features on the Brave soundtrack.
It really does look like 2013 is shaping up to be another bumper year for Scotland on film – later this year will also see the release of World War Z featuring Brad Pitt (partly shot in Glasgow). If you’d like to keep up with where our country has featured, check out our overview about film locations in Scotland.
In the meantime, we’re waiting with bated breath for the announcement of the Oscar shortlist tomorrow – and we’re all rooting for Julie, and for Brave! Watch Julie perform her amazing song live below – good luck Julie
