A great way to discover local history is to take part in the outdoor and heritage events held in Dundee & Angus. Enjoy a guided natural history walk or see vintage cars in a fantastic location.

The Scottish Snowdrop Festival takes place in February and March, when you can see the first of these delicate white flowers emerge at gardens and historic estates across Dundee & Angus.

In May you can escape to the countryside and catch the Carnoustie Country Classic, one of the friendliest tournaments in the golfing calendar, or take part in the renowned Angus Glens Walking Festival.

Glamis Castle is a wonderful place to find yourself in July, when the historic attraction hosts the Scottish Transport Extravaganza and Scotland’s Countryside Festival, a fantastic way to make the most of the area’s great outdoors.

Summertime events in Dundee & Angus also include legendary Highland games at locations such as Glenisla, Montrose and Strathmore. Watch traditional Highland tests of strength and endurance such as the hammer throw and the tossing of the caber to get a real sense of the heritage and culture of the region.

Don’t miss the Dundee Flower and Food Festival in September, when you can admire spectacular floral displays and try delicious continental produce in the beautiful surroundings of Camperdown Country Park.
