The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles

As if 2014 wasn't already going to be a truly special year, The 40th Ryder Cup returns then to Scotland, the Home of Golf, for only the second time in its history as Europe looks to retain the trophy they won so spectacularly in 2012.

Scotland’s unique golfing heritage is recognised around the world and from September 23-28, the Gleneagles Hotel will play host to 24 of the greatest players on the planet led by captains Paul McGinley and Tom Watson. With the USA seeking to reclaim the trophy after the drama of Medinah and Europe keen to notch their third victory in a row, you could be there to witness another seismic moment in the history of golf.

Applying for 2014 tickets

Tickets for The 2014 Ryder Cup are going to be amongst the hottest of the year and so to make the allocation of tickets as fair as possible, there have been some slight changes made to the process this year.

(Please remember that in order to purchase a Practice Day ticket you need to undertake the photo registration process first. Register here now.)

Victory at The 2013 Ryder Cup

In Chicago, José María Olazábal’s team succeeded in one of the greatest sporting triumphs ever witnessed. Europe had 12 heroes in their ranks who were inspired by the words of Olazábal and the memory of his compatriot and golfing legend Seve Ballesteros. Among the European heroes was Scotland’s own Paul Lawrie and the nation is immensely proud of his own last day performance.

The thing about the Ryder Cup is that it never disappoints in terms of sheer spectacle and excitement and tension. Medinah will never be forgotten. It was also a taster of what’s to come in two years time when Europe and the United States lock horns on the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles.

Imagine one of the greatest sporting tournaments on the planet at one of the world’s most legendary golfing venues. Picture the finest golfers on earth doing battle, and hear the roar of the crowd in the heart of Perthshire.

The Ryder Cup has come home and The Home of Golf awaits the next chapter in the astonishing story of this remarkable tournament.

It’s going to be a golden week at Gleneagles. 2014 can’t come soon enough.
