From the high profile Glasgow Film Festival to the literary Aye Write! festival and the Merchant City Festival, events are held throughout the year at venues across the region.

The Glasgow Film Festival in February presents a fortnight of premieres and red carpet events, all open to the public to join in.

March sees the Aye Write! Book Festival celebrate the best of Scottish and international writers, while the Glasgow International Comedy Festival also gets into full swing – expect some laughs from comedy’s biggest names.

In August, witness a winner being crowned at the World Pipe Band Championships on Glasgow Green. In the culmination of a week of events in the Piping Live! festival, more than 200 bands come together in a dazzling sound and vision experience of traditional pipes and drums.
