Enjoy a wide variety of events in Perthshire covering music, activities, arts and more. From the summer spectacle of the Highland games to the biggest music festival in Scotland and a dazzling life and sound show set in a forest at night, Perthshire boasts a year-round calendar of events that is second to none. There is also a great choice of smaller, community events that are perfect for family day out or a quiet weekend.

Every July thousands of music fans descend upon Balado for T in the Park, Scotland’s largest outdoor music festival. Catch the biggest names in rock and pop at this internationally renowned music event which in recent years has seen an eclectic range of acts from REM to Tom Jones headline. 

A variety of traditional events also take place throughout the region during the summer months, including 14 Highland games. At the Atholl Gathering you can watch the tossing o’ the caber, Highland dancing and bagpipers, all set against the magnificent backdrop of Blair Castle.

Watch traditional country pursuits and sports at the Scottish Game Fair as Scone Palace and see beautiful pedigree horses and their Olympian riders compete at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials. You can enjoy plenty of other exciting equestrian events at Perth Racecourse where horse racing has taken place since 1613.

Don't miss thrilling outdoor activities at the Perthshire Adventure Festival on 13 - 15 June, where you can try out a range of adrenaline-pumping activities, including: kayaking, bungee jumping, rock climbing, biking and there is even the chance to climb a zip wire.

Enjoy the cultural delights of the Pitlochry Winter Words Festival and the Perth Festival of the Arts, and choose from the superb year-round programmes of venues such as the Perth Concert Hall, and Pitlochry Festival Theatre offering theatre, dance, drama, film, comedy and more.

Perthshire Open Studios is an annual nine day event held in September. Over 180 artists, makers and creators will be opening their studios across the region, as part of an event which is a real highlight of Scotland’s art events calendar.

Experience Perthshire’s autumnal woods as you never have before at the Enchanted Forest. Marvel as Faskally Wood is transformed into a nocturnal winter wonderland using otherworldly light and sound effects.
