There are a number of fantastic cycling opportunities to enjoy while in Argyll & The Isles. The varied landscape of the region provides a fantastic cycling experience for all ages and abilities. Whether you are after a leisurely family cycle along quiet country roads or a downhill white-knuckle ride on a mountain trail you are sure to enjoy a thrilling cycling experience in Argyll & The Isles.

Cycle the 120 mile route from Oban to Campbeltown. Using part of the National Cycle Network, adventurous cyclists are able to explore Lorn, Knapdale and the spectacular Kintyre Peninsula. Along the way there are fantastic views of the Islands of Islay, Jura and Arran, as well as pretty harbours, castles, abbeys and ancient stones to explore.

Forest trails provide safe off-road cycling in the Inverliever and Inverinan Forests on the western shores of Loch Awe, and Barcaldine Forest north of Loch Etive, while the Argyll Forest Park also offers a number of exciting trails a great chance to spot the local wildlife.

For those looking for more off-road pursuits, the 19km Fire Tower Trail might be for you. Seasoned riders will be in for a treat with amazing scenery, awesome drop-offs and flowing single tracks. Jump the huge Quarry Drop or dare to try the colossal slope, aptly named Murder Hill!
