This award-winning museum recreates the building's former use as a home and ironmonger's shop.
Halliwell’s House Museum is located in the historic Halliwell Close, named after the wigmaker who owned buildings here at the beginning of the 18th century.
The museum tells the story of this atmospheric close, which was once the home of many businesses including ironmongers, weavers and shoemakers.
It also tells the story of the historic burgh of Selkirk. The Robson Gallery hosts regularly changing contemporary art, craft and local history exhibitions.
Facilities include a Visitor Information Centre, children's area, and a shop selling gifts, books and souvenirs. Tour groups are welcome.
Public toilets adjoin the building and the museum is accessible for wheelchair users.
