Visit a variety of arts and craft shops in Orkney, a group of islands which have long been inspiring artists and craftspeople due to the beautiful landscapes and long summer hours.

Uncover a selection of treasures from paintings to handwoven tapestries, jewellery to photographs. Many of the unique pieces are inspired by the landscape of Orkney, from the long hours of summer light to the wild waves which bounce off the sandy shorelines.

There are a variety of shops to visit. Pick up presents for friends and family from a gallery or treat yourself by buying directly from the workshops. Orkney has the largest concentration of craft jewellers in Scotland so if you have space in your jewellery box for a new addition, make sure and visit the many jewellery shops where you can pick up a new piece and often find out how they are made.

Visit the Judith Glue Shop and Real Food Cafe opposite St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall. Judith Glue is a knitwear designer and her Orkney knitwear collection is made locally in the islands by a small group of skilled knitters and finishers and in the workshop.
