Doune Castle
Doune Castle is one of the best-preserved medieval strongholds that have truly left its mark on the big screen. It has survived through the wars and rebellions of Scotland for centuries and has a story or few to tell. In addition to its interesting history, the castle has also seen its fair share of stars. It has been featured in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail and more recently used as setting for Winterfell in the pilot episode of Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch, the home of Clan MacKenzie in Outlander.
