A 2-day Highland tour from Edinburgh with a small group. See the Glenfinnan Viaduct, Loch Ness and Glencoe, with a night in Fort William beneath Ben Nevis.

Stay a little longer and see another side of the Highlands. On this two-day Loch Ness tour from Edinburgh, you’ll walk through The Hermitage, stop for an optional Highland dram and spend time beside Loch Ness before settling into Fort William for the night, beneath Ben Nevis.

The next morning brings Glenfinnan, where the famous Harry Potter viaduct curves through the mountains above Loch Shiel. Continue into Glencoe for dramatic scenery and clan history, then travel through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs towards Stirling Castle and its royal stories. There’s the option of a Loch Ness cruise along the way, too. With short walks, scenic stops and an expert guide, these two days give you more time to get to know the Highlands beyond their best-known views.

Itinerary

Day 1: Edinburgh to Fort William via Loch Ness: The Hermitage · Highland whisky · Loch Ness · Fort William

Leave Edinburgh and travel north into the Highlands, beginning with a walk through the towering trees and riverside scenery of The Hermitage. Continue to a Highland whisky distillery, with the chance to buy a dram, then travel deeper into the Highlands.

After lunch, arrive at Loch Ness and choose whether to head out on an optional cruise. Then continue west to Fort William, beneath Ben Nevis, for your night's stay.

Loch Ness cruise tickets, whisky and other optional paid experiences aren't included.

Day 2: Glenfinnan, Glencoe & Stirling to Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct · Glencoe · Highland cows · Stirling Castle

Travel west to Glenfinnan, surrounded by mountains and Loch Shiel, to see the famous viaduct from the Harry Potter films. Continue into Glencoe, where towering mountains frame stories of clan history, the infamous massacre and Highland legend.

Travel through Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, with a possible Highland cow stop near Kilmahog, before exploring Stirling Castle and returning to Edinburgh.

Stirling Castle admission isn't included. Highland cow sightings depend on the animals and conditions on the day and can’t be guaranteed.
