Fife Whisky Tour

Fife hat eine lange Geschichte und hatte viele Whisky Brennereien. Heutzutage sind die Fife Whisky Brennereien relativ jung aber sehr innovativ. Sie können Ihren Besuch einer Brennerei natürlich auch mit anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten kombinieren!

Das Königreich Fife ist eine sehr besondere und wunderschöne Region, ob Sie Landschaften lieben, Golf oder jede Form von alkoholischen Getränken.

In der Vergangenheit gab es auch sehr viele Whisky Brennereien (Stratheden Auchtermuchty Distillery& Pitlessie), die aber über die Jahrhunderte verschwanden.


Heutzutage, sind die Whisky Brennereien in Fife relativ jung:

2012 Edenmill

2014 Kingsbarns

2017 Lindores

Für Whiskyproben bleiben da natürlich einige Wünsche offen. Denn um sich Whisky nennen zu dürfen, muss der gute Tropfen mindestens drei Jahre und einen Tag in einem Fass gelagert werden. Um wirklich gut zu sein, sollte er aber mindestens 10 Jahre alt sein.. Daftmill hat diese Voraussetzung erfüllt und brachte 2017 seinen ersten 12 Jahre alten Whisky heraus, der so beliebt war, das es fast unmöglich war, ihn zu probieren oder gar zu erwerben. Daftmill ist ein voll funktionierender Bauernhof, der Gerste anbaut, und kein Besucherzentrum hat. Man kann Daftmill besuchen, muss aber im voraus buchen, was sich für echte Whisky Liebhaber sicher lohnt.

KingsbarnsEdenmill, und Lindores bieten alle interessante Besichtigungstouren, für den ganz besonderen Geschmack müssen Sie sich aber noch ein wenig gedulden.

Bis dahin empfehlen wir wärmstens einen Besuch in der Keys Bar. Diese Kneipe ist magisch, denn es stehen über dreihundert verschiedene Whiskys zum Probieren zur Verfügung, allerdings geht es hier nicht vornehm zu. Ganz im Gegenteil, hier treffen sich die lokalen Charaktere von St Andrews und Umgebung und selbst die Angestellten kommen an ihrem freien Tag auf einen "wee dram". Dies ist umbedingt einen Besuch wert und sprechen Sie mit jedem in der Kneipe, so wird Ihr Besuch unvergesslich!

10 am    Tour at Kingsbarns Distillery




11.30 am  Lunch at Kingsbarns Distillery




1.30 pm   Lindores Abbey (tour at 2pm)




4pm      Gin, Whisky or Beer Tour at Lindores




6.30 pm   Drop off At Andrews
