A women-only 8-day small-group tour (8 people maximum) with a French-speaking guide-driver based in Edinburgh, following Outlander filming locations from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye and the Highlands. Hand-picked B&Bs and hotels, optional walks...

A women-only 8-day small-group tour (8 people maximum) with a French-speaking guide-driver based in Edinburgh, following Outlander filming locations from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye and the Highlands. Hand-picked B&Bs and hotels, optional walks, a relaxed and sociable way to travel among women. Every day has been designed and tested over dozens of departures.

Day 1 · Edinburgh: Free arrival. If you land before 4pm, we take you on a guided walk of the Old Town in French: the Royal Mile, Grassmarket and the hidden closes. Overnight in central Edinburgh.

Day 2 · Edinburgh to Inverness: The Outlander day. Midhope Castle (the real Lallybroch), Falkland (which plays 1940s Inverness on screen), the Highland Folk Museum, and the standing stones of Clava Cairns (the inspiration for Craigh na Dun), ending at Culloden Battlefield.

Day 3 · Inverness to the Isle of Skye: Loch Ness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle, then west through Glen Shiel. Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed castle in Scotland, and on to Portree via Sligachan.

Day 4 · North Skye: The Old Man of Storr (an optional 5 km walk), Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, the otherworldly Quiraing, the ruined Duntulm Castle on the cliff edge, and the Fairy Glen.

Day 5 · West Skye: Talisker Bay and its black-pebble beach, the turquoise Fairy Pools beneath the Cuillin, the 2,000-year-old Dun Beag Broch, and Neist Point Lighthouse at sunset if the weather cooperates.

Day 6 : Skye to Fort William: A visit and tasting at Torabhaig Distillery, the ferry to Mallaig, then the Glenfinnan Viaduct in the afternoon. Overnight at the foot of Ben Nevis.

Day 7 · to Edinburgh: A forest walk at Glencoe Lochan, the Three Sisters and Glen Etive, a coffee in Callander, and Stirling Castle in the late afternoon. Back in Edinburgh in the evening.

Day 8 · Departure: Free morning in Edinburgh before your transfer to the airport.

Included: 7 nights in B&Bs and hotels (double or twin rooms), Scottish breakfast every morning, a French-speaking guide-driver from Day 2 to Day 7, a 9-seat van, a 14-day Explorer Pass for castles and historic sites, and a guided walk of Edinburgh in French on Day 1. Single rooms available on request.
