Visit Lallybroch - Midhope Castle
The location on this Outlander tour is Lallybroch - Midhope Castle, ancestral home of Jamie Fraser . Outlander scenes were shot at Midhope Castle on the fringes of the Hopetoun Estate near South Queensferry. Season 7 of Outlander is being filmed in Scotland with several scenes at Midhope Castle including a night shoot .
Midhope was built in the 15th Century and was built by John Martyne, laird of Medhope. It was rebuilt in the mid 1600s and remains much the same today.
Can you go inside Lallybroch now ?
For years I have been explaining to customers that you can't actually go inside Lallybroch . The good news is that the refurbishment has started and you can now go inside Castle Lallybroch , for the first time ever , making this tour a unique experience . Plans to redevelop Midhope include accommodation and tasting rooms for the new Midhope castle whisky . Visitors can now go inside Lallybroch . In the near future fans will be able to stay in Lallybroch .
Although you can't stay in Lallybroch at the moment you will be able to stay in the cottages next to the castle some time in 2026 . Lallybroch gifts are available online
Outlander Blood of my Blood season 2 has been filmed in Scotland . Filming at Castle Lallybroch will take place once Brian and Ellen get married and start their new life together at the castle .
