Info
Shetland Pride takes place on Saturday the 13th June 2026.
This will be Shetland's 5th national & international Pride Festival, it will also be the most northerly Pride Event in the UK. Shetland is closer to the Arctic circle than it is to London, and is on the same latitude as the southern tip of Greenland. The Festival which is being welcomed by the Shetland Islands Council and all local politicians is being seen as a chance for members of the LGBTQ+ community in the isles and from all over the UK and far beyond to come together.

Parade
Walking participants muster at 10.30 to begin the march at 11.00. Everyone will gather at Island Larder and back to the Shetland Times Bookshop. We're asking groups of 10 or larger to contact us ahead of time, so we can ensure everyone's safety. We will march from the Market Cross along Commercial Street until we meet the Main Road. Starting at the Market Cross we will along the street until we meet the main road, from there we walk in the Left lane along Commercial Road until we reach Burgh Road, where we will follow that uphill to Gilbertson Park. Once in Gilbertson Park, everyone must walk along the left path towards Pride Village.
Festival
Opening at 11:00, the Village Market will have representation from many local businesses and individuals who support the LGBTQIA+ community. There will be a range of products on sale such as craft items, wares, merchandise, candy floss, and lots of other rainbow goodies. This event attracted around 2,300 people throughout the day last year, which is roughly ten percent of the population of Shetland. It is our family-friendly event where people of all ages are encouraged to come along to celebrate and support all things LGBTQIA+. There are lots of fun and exciting things on offer at Pride Village this year:
