Nordic walking is a fun way to build on your fitness levels and enjoy the great outdoors! It uses special poles to propel you forward and enhance ordinary walking. While normal walking uses approximately 46% of your muscles, Nordic walking works around 90%. By the end of the session you will know you have had a good work out!
We'll start with a warm up and the basic skills and techniques. Then there will be a chance to put them into practise with a Nordic walk round part of the Meadows. The session will finish with some cool down stretches.
No experience required but a general level of fitness is needed.
Please wear walking shoes or trainers - no walking boots. Dress for the weather on the day which may include hat, layers, waterproofs, light gloves, etc. Poles will be provided. Bring a bottle of water, if you wish.
