Lochhill Equestrian Centre boasts a stable of horses and ponies that come in a variety of shapes and sizes allowing whole family can enjoy fantastic days riding amidst the majestic scenery and varied terrain of this beautiful corner of Scotland. If you’re a novice or simply what to refine your skills, you can book either group or private riding lessons. Treks can last from one to three hours, or half to a whole day. If your children are enthusiastic about horses, why not let them spend the morning or afternoon with Lochhill's friendly team learning how to groom or muck-out a pony. The centre also offers carriage rides which are available daily through the picturesque Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright or from the farm itself.
Getting there by railway:- From Dumfries railway station follow the A75 towards Stranraer direction by-passing Dumfries, Castle Douglas. The next turning off the A75 on the righthand side is Ringford, turn right here. In the village of Ringford take first left out of village, travel for 250 yds, take first left again, concealed turning. Travel for 1 1/2 miles. Centre is at the top of the hill on left hand side.
Getting there by ferry:- From Stranraer take A75 to Ringford. Take left turn off into Ringford. Take first left out of village to New Galloway and Laurieston Road for 200 yds. Take first left again and travel for 1 1/2 miles. Centre is at the top of the hill on left hand side.
