Make more of your trip to the Isle of Skye with a two day tour from Inverness. Explore its stunning and dramatic scenery - including the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr - and discover its ancient history, heritage and culture.
Day 1 begins at Inverness where we follow the banks of Loch Ness before turning west towards Loch Cluanie and Glen Shiel. Continuing on to the Five Sisters of Kintail mountains we take a detour up Mam Ratagan for a breath-taking view of the Highlands! At Eilean Donan Castle we explore its ancient and historic past before we cross the bridge to the Isle of Skye heading for the base of the dramatic Black Cuillin mountain ridge. The late afternoon takes us to the Trotternish Peninsula for stunning views of the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock before we take a drive up to the Quiraing for one of the highlights of the whole trip to the Isle of Skye. We then return to Portree for our overnight stop.
Day 2 begins from Portree with a short drive to Dunvegan Castle, home of the Clan MacLeod, for a great look back at the history of one of the Hebrides most powerful clans. Leaving Dunvegan Castle we make our way down past the Red Hills of Skye towards the Sleat Peninsula - known as ‘the garden of Skye'. We stop at the beautiful Isleornsay where we have the opportunity to enjoy some Hebridean whisky tasting. After a visit to Armadale we get off the beaten path and briefly explore the remote western side of the Sleat Peninsula, crossing over to the villages of Tarskavaig and Ord for great views across to the Cuillin mountains before we begin our journey back to Inverness.
