3 day Lewis and Harris Outer Hebrides tour

This is a PRIVATE BESPOKE 3 day tour. Join us on this wonderful Scottish tour and enjoy a authentic experience on your Journey through the Scotland.

This tour departs from Inverness. Once we pick you up from your accommodation this epic journey begins.

Firstly, we make our way to the ferry port of Ullapool to catch the boat to Lewis. This amazing trip takes you through Loch Broom and past the beautiful Summer Isles. Keep you eyes open as we often catch a glimpse of porpoises, dolphins or even the occasional whale.

Soon we arrive at the Outer Hebrides capital Stornoway, on Lewis. Firstly, we are going to take you back in time as we travel to the black house in Arnol. Experience how our ancestors lived in the traditional thatched roofed house. It will also give you a chance to see how they lived and farmed the land.

The Butt of Lewis is at the most northerly part of the island and has a wonderful lighthouse with spectacular views. This is the last stop on the first day. Thereafter, we will drop you off at your chosen accommodation.

Day 2

On this morning we are traveling to Harris. Harris and Lewis are on the same island but they look and feel very different.

Harris, unlike Lewis, is mountainous. From shore to shore you are amidst these beautiful hills. Also, Harris boasts wonderful pure white sand beaches and crystal-clear Atlantic Ocean. We ensure you have time to explore.

Day 3

This island was once inhabited by the Vikings and so you will have the chance to learn the history of how they settled and the activities from this era. Our guide will tell you the stories of this Islands direct link with the Vikings.

As the story of Vikings doesn’t reach far enough back in time, our next stop is the neolothic 5,000 year old Calanish standing stones. There we will be able to comprehend how and why these wondrous stones were erected.

Heartland Travel - Tours of Scotland

We provide small group tours (no more than 16 passengers) of the Highlands, Isle of Skye and Loch Ness. Experience authentic Scotland with our small family business. We provide 2 separate scheduled tours - a 3 day tour to the Isle of Skye departing from St. Andrews, Dundee and Stirling, and a 4 day tour to the Isle of Skye and Inverness which departs from Edinburgh. We can also create bespoke tours for anyone who comes with the glimmer of an idea they want to make real. An exhaustive knowledge of Scotland also means that we are able to drop the itinerary for that unexpected magical detour.
