A 7 day exploration of Scotland's contrasting regions and the opportunity to visit some of the fantastic Outlander film locations. Embark on an incredible journey through the stunning Glens of Scotland including Glencoe and Rannoch Moor where much of Craig Na Dun was filmed, get a taste of real Scottish history and admire the views of the scenic highlands. Highlights include the fabulous scenery of our National Parks, enchanting Glencoe, beautiful Loch Lomond and Loch Ness, Doune Castle (Castle Leoch), Culross (Crainsmuir village), historic Culloden Battlefield, Eilean Donan Castle and the breathtaking beauty of the Isle of Skye.

Day 1


Edinburgh & Rosslyn Chapel

Begins with a visit to 15th century Rosslyn Chapel made famous by Dan Brown's book ‘The Da Vinci Code’. Later we visit historic Edinburgh Castle and enjoy some free time in the Royal Mile with the charming medieval architecture of the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. You may wish the opportunity to do some speciality shopping in Scotland’s capital. Overnight Edinburgh.

Day 2


Culross & Doune Castle

We head out to view the famous Forth Rail Bridge and then the rustic village of Culross in Fife (Cranesmuir, home to Geillis & Arthur Duncan) and impressive Culross Palace (Claire works in its herb garden at fictional Castle Leoch). After lunch we head for Doune Castle near Callander (Castle Leoch, home to Colum MacKenzie and his clan). Overnight nr Stirling.

Day 3


Central Highlands

Takes us into the Highlands of Scotland as we visit Dunkeld and the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry. Later we visit beautiful Blair Castle, home to Europe’s only private army and spend the afternoon walking the battlegrounds at Culloden where you will learn more about the fate of the Jacobites that fought here in 1746, and then Inverness. Overnight Inverness.

Day 4


Loch Ness & Eilean Donan Castle

Is a relaxing journey to the Isle of Skye via Loch Ness where we will stop at the charming village of Fort Augustus on the southern shores. After lunch we head through Glenshiel, admiring this stunning landscape. The scenery changes as we near the rugged west coast and we will spend the afternoon visiting iconic Eilean Donan Castle, long held by the Mackenzies of Kintail. Overnight nr Skye

Day 5


Isle of Skye

Is a wonderful tour of the Isle of Skye; over the Skye Bridge and passing through Broadford and then on to the Island’s main settlement, Portree, with its colourful harbour front. Heading further north we take in the most fabulous scenery and seascapes including the Cuillin Mountains and visit Dunvegan Castle to make this a day to remember. Overnight nr Skye.

Day 6


Glenfinnan

Takes us back to the mainland by ferry, arriving in the small fishing village of Mallaig before heading through Glenfinnan on our way to Fort William. At the head of Loch Shiel is the Glenfinnan Monument which marks the place where Prince Charles Edward Stuart, ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’, raised his standard at the beginning of the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Overnight nr Glencoe.

Day 7


Loch Lomond & Linlithgow Palace

Is a fabulous journey through the Scottish landscape, taking in the stunning scenery of Glencoe and Rannoch Moor to the beautiful mountains, glens and lochs of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and take in Linlithgow Palace (where Jamie is imprisoned in Outlander Season 1). End in Edinburgh
