Discover the North Coast 500 & Orkney - Turas ~ the art of travel
Discover majestic scenery, ancient history and abundant wildlife along the dramatic North Coast 500 route and the spellbinding Orkney Islands.
The romance, history and scenic grandeur of the Scottish Highlands offer the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable driving tour.
Spend your first evening in Inverness, capital town of the Highlands, and discover some of the local attractions. If you arrive early enough, you might like to take a cruise on the legendary waters of Loch Ness, or visit Culloden Battlefield and nearby Clava Cairns.
Then set out on the North Coast 500 route to explore the unique, awe-inspiring scenery of the North West Highlands with iconic mountains and idyllic beaches around every corner. Journey along the beautiful North coast and on to the magical Orkney Islands to discover coastal landscapes, wildlife aplenty, a poignant World War II history and a wealth of Neolithic sites which have been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status, including Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar.
Finally return to Inverness via the contrasting North East coast, where ruined castles and abandoned clearance villages cling to the cliffs, stopping off at picturesque towns and world-famous distilleries along the way.
