Glen Affric, Scotland

Guided day walks and trails

The area surrounding Inverness is stunning and well worth exploring. We offer 1/2 day and full day guided walks along with food and refreshments starting from £49.

If you want to get out and about and explore the spectacular countryside in our area then one of our guided full or half day tours is ideal. A moderate level of fitness is required but walks can be set at a relatively leisurely pace! Along with your guide we offer picnics sourcing fine local produce.

Our prices start at £49 for a half day including transportation to and from your accommodation and your lunch. We have picked the following walks as we know them well and they offer stunning views of the surrounding area

Loch Affric Circuit

Glen Affric is one of the finest glens in Scotland popular with walkers owing to its sheer rugged beauty and combination of mountain, loch and forest. The circuit is approximately 18km and takes 5 to 6 hours to complete. In the middle of the glen is a national nature reserve where Scots Pine trees grow. This is one of the last remnants of the original Calaedonian Forest. A moderate level of fitness is required to complete this day. Sturdy footwear and outdoor clothing is necessary but the day does not require specialist mountain equipment or skills. Perfect for those wanting to get out in to nature. Prices start from £65 which includes guide, maps and picnic lunch.

Plodda Falls

A great excursion comprosing an hours walk to the truly spectacular Plodda Falls near Tomich followed by lunch at the Tomich Hotel, once an old hunting lodge. The walk is a short hike with few steep climbs to the viewing platform at the top looking towards the falls below. Prices start at £49 per person and include your guide, transportation and lunch at the Hotel.

Mealfuarvonie

This is a great walk lasting around 3 hours starting from the outskirts of Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness. Mealfuarvonie is the most prominent summit around Loch Ness and is a straightforward hill walk with great views from the top. There is a pleasant path that runs alongside a small stream before going through a birch and hazel woodland to reach the top. A simple leisurely walk where we provide a delightful picnic hamper laid out for your lunch. Prices start from £49 per person and include your guide, transportation and picnic hamper lunch.
