
Highland Whisky Enthusiasts Tour
A tour specifically designed for enthusiasts of Highland whiskies. Visit each of the distilleries and spend time with those who produce the whiskies They will tell you anything you want to know and tempt your tastebuds by offering samples!
Day 1 – Start off at Inverness, head South to the remote distillery of Tomatin to have their ‘Single Cask Experience’ tour which allows you to delve into the world of cask selection and get to nose and taste 5 different single cask expressions.
-Lunch at the delicious Mustard Seed restaurant in Inverness on the banks of the River Ness. (at own expense).
-Explore Inverness at leisure after lunch. -Leisurely drive to the large distillery of Glen Ord for the ‘Experience Tasting Tour’
-Dinner at Kincraig Hotel (at own expense) -After dinner tasting of 4 local whiskies tasting at the Kincraig ‘Whisky Snug’ (included in price).
Day 2 – After a hearty breakfast take the remote, beautiful route to the Balblair distillery in Edderton.
-Take the Balblair Enthusiasts tour to discover the history of the distillery and the brand and even have the chance to purchase your own hand-filled bottle of singe-cask Balblair!
-Travel over the Dornoch bridge with stunning views over the firth to the cathedral ‘city’ of Dornoch. Take a stroll along the beautiful white sandy beach before having lunch at the Dornoch Castle Hotel (own expense) with it’s astonishing whisky bar! After lunch we take a look at the tiny, very new Dornoch distillery in the hotel grounds and discover what they are up to and sample some of the gin already being produced.
-We then make our way north to the stunning gothic castle at Dunrobin.
-We then take the short drive to the outskirts of Tain to visit the iconic Glenmorangie Distillery on their in depth ‘Signet Tour’.
-Dinner of your choice. Suggestions available. Accomodation for night in Dornoch (selections available. Please detail in advance what level of accommodation you would like and we will do the rest).
Day 3 – After a hearty breakfast we head North again paying a visit to the stunning gothic castle of Dunrobin then move towards the iconic Clynelish and Brora distilleries where we will sample a ‘Taste of the Highlands’ (a tour of the iconic Brora distillery is available at extra cost. Please make request at booking stage). After our delicious stop at Clynelish we head South along the coast then over the stunning Struie Hill and stop off at the stunning Cadha Mor view point. Grab a light lunch and some retail therapy at the Storehouse of Foulis. A great place to soak up any sun rays.
-Visit the beautiful Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer before making leisurely, scenic return to Inverness.
