Classic Highland Tour from Invergordon

For those docking in Invergordon on a cruise ship, we have a tour designed just for you. Using our smaller vehicles we will take you on some of the back roads to see the real Highlands, as well as ticking off all of the must-see sights along the way

We will meet you at the port gates when you disembark in the Port of Invergordon. Our tour departs a five minute walk from the port gates, with departure times customised to your ship's arrival time. On your day in the Scottish Highlands with us you will be treated to the following sights;

Cawdor Castle

This magnificent castle dates back over 600 years, and gives a wonderful impression of how the landed gentry would have lived back in those days. You will have an audio guide to take you through its impressively grandiose interior at your own pace. You will then have time to peruse the wonderful gardens (these include a Walled Garden, maze, Knot Garden and Paradise Garden, amongst others!) There is also a wonderful tea room here, and a couple of souvenir shops selling authentic Scottish goods, and Cawdor's own branded woollen items.

We ask you to purchase your entrance ticket to Cawdor, which includes the audio guide, when you book the tour (£12pp).

Culloden Battlefield

Our next stop is at Culloden, one of the most important battlefields in the British Isles. We will spend one hour at Culloden Battlefield and your guide will provide a 30 minute walking tour of the site.  You will then have a little time to head to the restrooms, cafe and shop.

Clava Cairns

Your guide will give you a fascinating tour of the pre-historic standing stones and burial chambers of Clava Cairns, a must for Outlander fans!

Highland scenery

The wild landscapes of the Scottish Highlands are one of the region’s biggest draws, yet they are often missed on day tour itineraries, which focus only on key historical sights. As we use smaller coaches we are able to give you a real taste of the Highlands as we head for the hills on the next part of the tour. We will drive along winding country lanes, through forests and rugged mountain moorland, to our next stop.

Highland cows

We can't promise anything but we will do our best to stop and say hi to these famous hairy beasts along the way!

Loch Ness

A trip to the Highlands would not be complete without a trip to see Loch Ness, and hopefully a sighting of Nessie herself! We stop at Dores Beach, which was recently voted as one of the top views in the UK. You will have half an hour here to enjoy the views, or perhaps purchase a carefully crafted mini monster from our resident Nessie hunter; Steve Feltham.

Inverness

Depending on your ship's docking times, we will have from 20 - 60 minutes in the city. We will drop you off near St Andrews Cathedral so that you can take a look inside this impressive building, as well as taking photos of the nearby River Ness and Inverness Castle. For those who have time, Inverness boasts a plethora of shops, cafes and bars to while away your time here. This is our last stop before we embark on our journey back to Invergordon. We will arrive back at least 1 1/4 hours prior to your ship's departure time.
